What we do
Rexroad Analytics works with government agencies and with the prime contractors that serve them. We take on the measurement problem itself: what question the data can actually answer, what method will hold up under review, and what the result means once the caveats are honest.
We work as a direct contractor on small and mid-size engagements, and as a methodology subcontractor to platform and operations primes on larger ones.
- Statistical analysis on large administrative datasets. Peer-group outlier methodology, case-mix and risk adjustment, multi-year panel analysis, sampling and extrapolation with documented sensitivity ranges.
- Program evaluation and research methods. Evaluation design, outcome and performance measurement, quasi-experimental and comparison-group methods, analysis of program administrative data.
- Data integration, quality and validation. Record linkage across administrative systems, data quality rules, validation against a source of record, catalog and lineage documentation.
- Healthcare payment integrity and program oversight. Billing aberrancy detection, upcoding and severity migration analysis, managed care oversight, drug spend and site of service analysis.
- Reporting and visualization. Dashboards and recurring reporting built for the people who have to act on them, meeting public sector accessibility standards.
What we are not. Not a software platform, not a staffing firm, not a claims review operation. We say so early because those are different businesses with different cost structures, and buyers deserve to know which one they are talking to.
How we work
Methodology in the open
Every analysis ships as reproducible code with data lineage back to the raw source files, sensitivity ranges, and documented limitations. A client can audit it, and it holds up on appeal. That is the opposite of a black box score, and it is deliberate.
The people who write the proposal do the work
There is no account layer and no handoff to a delivery team you never met. On a small engagement that is the whole value proposition, and on a large one it is why primes bring us in for the methodology rather than the headcount.
Independent
No managed care plan ownership, no provider affiliations, and no platform to upsell. When the analysis points somewhere inconvenient, nothing in our business model argues with it.
Published work
The firm's verifiable work product is public. Eighteen quantitative analyses of federal healthcare payment data, published open source with full code and data lineage, spanning hospital cost reports, Part B and Part D public use files, outpatient and physician fee schedules, and Medicare Advantage risk and prior authorization disclosures.
That body of work includes the first public per-contract dataset extracted from CMS prior authorization disclosures, covering 93 contracts and 18.4 million requests.
